 Monday

Healthy Steps – 9 am  Join us for a great workout from your chair. Presented in cooperation with the Berk’s County Senior Citizens Council.  All Seniors are welcome to join us for this free class.  

Twin Valley Moms – 10 am  All moms are welcome to come for some well deserved time with other moms. Meets the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Mondays of each month.  

Spanish as a Second Language – 6 pm  Put on your Sombrero , leave your hacienda and join us for some informal Spanish Conversation. New Members Always Welcome! This program is free and open to the public.

 

Tuesday

Art Circle – 9 am  No artist is too novice! Come out, bring along your current project or get ideas for a new one. This program is free and everyone who loves to create is welcome to attend. Art Circle meets the first and last Tuesday of each month.  

Toddler Storytimes – 10 am  Geared for the youngest listeners, this fun-filled Storytime includes stories, songs, games and motion. Join Ms Denise for loads of pre-walking activities.

Toddler Playgroup – 10:30 am  Stay after Storytime on the first and third Tuesday of each month for our toddler playgroup. Refreshments and toys are provided.

Wednesday

Storytime – 10 am  Attention Preschoolers - Come out and join in the fun! Miss Carin has new themes, new crafts and some wonderful new stories to tell.  Geared for children ages 3 and 4, these free programs are designed to turn listeners into readers. No registration is required.

 

Card Club – 1 pm   Come join our Senior’s Card Club. This group plays games of all kinds and has refreshments.  Come be a part of this enjoyable company. The Card Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in the Community Room.

Thursday

Tai Chi – 9 am  Start you day with stretching and breathing exercises. Learn how to focus, deal with stress and balance your world.  This weekly class welcomes new members at any time.  $3 fee per week, no long term commitments needed.

 

Yarns and Threads – 11 am  Stop in for some knitting and crocheting support. learn a new stitch or share one with friends. Yarn enthusiasts at all levels are welcome. Yarns and Threads meets the second Thursday of each month from 11 am to 3 pm.  
 
 

ABC Storytime  – 4 pm  Join us for this wonderful new Storytime. “The ABC’s of your World with Miss Pam” introduces listeners to a new letter each week. Stories, activities and crafts will all center on that week’s letter. Great for children who are showing an interest in the alphabet, but everyone is welcome! No registration is needed for this free program.
  

 

 

Exercise Classes

Healthy Steps -   The Village Library and the Berks County Senior Citizens Council invite seniors to join them for “Healthy Steps”.  This class, designed for seniors, allows participants to gain the benefit of exercise without having to leave their chair.  No registration is required; a donation to cover class expenses will be taken at each class.  

Tai Chi for Everyone Class  - The Village Library and the Berks County Senior Citizens Council welcome EVERYONE to join us for “Tai Chi.” Focusing on stretching and breathing, this class is a benefit for anyone desiring to increase balance and reduce stress.  Held on Thursday mornings at 9 am, there is a fee of $3 per class. 

 

Storytimes

Toddler Storytimes  
The Village Library will hold Toddler Lapsits - Tuesdays at 10 am.  This fun-filled Storytime includes songs, stories, activities and a craft. Join Ms Denise for all the fun.  

Toddler Playgroup - The Village Library will host a Special Playgroup on the first and third Tuesday of each month following Toddler Lapsits. Coffee and toys provided. Playgroup will begin on September 21st.

 Preschool Storytimes  - The Village Library welcomes everyone to join us for Preschool Storytimes.  Our fun, activity-filled Storytimes include games, songs, stories and crafts. Preschool Storytimes will be held on Wednesday at 10 am

Programs

Spanish as a Second Language  
This informal conversation group meets on Monday evenings at 6 pm.  Everyone is welcome to join in and practice his or her conversation skills.  There is no charge for this program, however a text is recommended and can be ordered through the library.  For additional information please call the library at 610-286-1022

Art in the Library - Meets the First and Last Tuesday of each month from 10 - 12.  Bring along whatever project you are working on, or start a new one.  Find encouragement, advice and fun. 

Yarns and Threads - The Library's Crochet, Knitting and Needle Arts group on the Second Thursday of each month from 11 am to 3 pm. This informal group is to encourage and support all needle arts (crochet, knitting, crewel, cross stitch, etc). Come out, bring your projects and share in the fun!  No registration required.   

Literary Sharing - Meets once a quarter to discuss the good, bad and ugly of their most current reads. New members always welcome. Literary Sharing for 2008 meets January 9th, April 2nd, July 2nd & Oct 2nd at 7:30 pm

Friends of the Village Library  - See what the Friends have in store for the coming months. The Friends meet the third Monday of each month at 1 pm.
